Hazelbeck Special School, a member of Beckfoot Trust has recently been inspected by Ofsted. The report is glowing. The school continues to be outstanding having first been awarded this status in 2015. The school goes from strength to strength and continues to meet the needs of all its pupils. The school was also awarded World Class School status in 2018, one of the first special schools in the country to achieve this quality mark.
Beth McPhail, the Headteacher of the school says 'We are immensely proud of our team and the wonderful students in our school. We are determined to continue to improve the school and are working closely with both the Trust and other outstanding special schools nationally to move us onto the next level. It is very exciting.'
David Horn, CEO Beckfoot Trust says: 'This is a wonderful achievement. Hazelbeck was the first school to join the Beckfoot Trust after Beckfoot and we have seen the school move from one that Ofsted felt 'required improvement' to 'outstanding'. It now has the World Class Schools Quality Mark and a second outstanding Ofsted judgement. The beauty of the school is its absolute belief in the potential of its students to do wonderful things and the team working culture established across all the staff. It is a very magical place and an inspiration to us all.’
