52 sixth form students from across the Beckfoot Trust convened at Beckfoot Thornton in July to spend a morning hearing about Oxford University and then being put through their paces in an academic session that reflects the expectations and challenge top performing UK universities will have of our students as they leave us and join the world of higher education.
The session was designed to stretch and challenge our students to work collaboratively, think about the skills that will be required to study independently, “think big” and take themselves to the next level of education and beyond.
Students were treated to a classics and robotics lecture from Dr Marchella Ward of Worcester College, University of Oxford ; some student focused lifestyle workshops with Oxford staff and students and a chance to ask the questions they needed to about higher education.
A great event. Thanks to @beckfootthornton for their hospitality and the @UniofOxford team for taking the time to be with us @BeckfootTrust
