Welcome Message from the CEO of Beckfoot Trust: David Horn
Thank you for expressing an interest in joining the Beckfoot Trust. We are a cross phase Multi Academy Trust made up of 9 Bradford schools crossing secondary, primary and special sectors. We educate close to 7000 young people and have over a 1000 staff.
Our vision is to create remarkable schools (See our attached Remarkable Learning Environment vision). Schools where young people and all those who work in them enjoy the challenge of learning, celebrate achievement and expect to be successful.
All of our schools are comprehensive in character. We do not shape admissions. We work from a belief that all of our young people, regardless of starting point, can achieve amazing things. We never give up on any child. They always come first.
We are incredibly aspirational. We set ambitious targets. We want all of our schools to be delivering outcomes for learners that place them in the top 20% of similar schools by the time of their first inspection following conversion to the Trust. We design our curriculum to maximise the potential of very learner. We insist on the very best teaching, we do not accept poor attendance or behaviour and we ensure our young people are safe.
Our schools are well led with clear purpose and direction. We believe that one of the most important factors in creating great schools is for leaders to cherish their staff. From the day to day acknowledgement and thank you for the work people do through to high quality personalised professional development and leadership programmes at all career stages, it is what you see in our schools. The Trust is noted for its high level of collective unity. We believe in the power of collaborative practice. We network extensively. We learn from one another and seek to find the best idea. The benefits of all our schools being close to one another geographically really helps us.
We have grown slowly. We have put the building blocks in place with sound governance arrangements. We are well organised, financially well managed, have strong quality assurance systems and a clear strategy for development. We are well placed to consolidate what we have achieved and continue to improve.
