Outcome of Admissions Consultations 2025-26

Three admissions consultations for 2025-6 as set out below began on 5 December 2023 and ran until 22 January 2024.

The details were published on the Beckfoot Trust website, the school websites, the local authority website and stakeholders in the school community and local authority were informed.  Stakeholders were invited to complete a consultation form and provide comments/feedback about the admissions arrangements proposals to let us know of any concerns.

Consultation took place on the admissions arrangements for the following schools in line with the requirements of the School Admissions Code, which states that admission authorities must consult every 7 years even if there have been no changes.

  • Beckfoot Allerton Primary School
  • Beckfoot Heaton Primary School
  • Beckfoot Nessfield Primary School
  • Beckfoot Priestthorpe Primary School

The Trust Board considered the response and decided that the Admissions Arrangements will remain as previously published.

Consultation also took place for the following school, with a proposal to reduce Pupil Admission Number (PAN) from 300 to 255 or 250 which is a change to current admission arrangements:

  • Beckfoot Oakbank

The Trust Board considered the response and decided that the Admissions Arrangements will go ahead as proposed.
We acknowledge that the Local Authority have concerns that a reduction in PAN may lead to a shortage of places in Keighley District for 2025-6 admission year. If this is the case, we have agreed with the Local Authority that we will look to provide those places for this year, up to 300, even although our published PAN will be officially 250.

Consultation also took place for the following schools, with a proposal to introduce a local Beckfoot feeder primary school into oversubscription criteria which is a change to current admission arrangements:

  • Beckfoot School
  • Beckfoot Thornton
  • Beckfoot Upper Heaton

The Trust Board considered the response and decided that the Admissions Arrangements will go ahead as proposed.

The response to all consultations held and Trust response can be found in the attached document.
