Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

End of Year Celebration - Schools Pandemic Recovery

Thank you to all who took part in the end of year event to celebrate the work from Bradford students on Poverty and Disadvantage, LGBTQ+, Mental Health and Anti Racism.

This has been a year of positive community action, with our young people meeting with powerful civic influencers from private and public sector to secure support on the issues that matter to them.

Thank you to Citizens UK for facilitating this work and for guiding our school communities in the development of Bradford Citizens, a community action group which will continue and widen the work of the Pandemic Recovery Initiative.

Our thanks to Born in Bradford, Young in Covid and Tracy Brabin Mayor of West Yorkshire for attending the event  today and to all who have supported the work this year. But most especially thanks to our young people who have spoken out to make positive change for all in our community.

Thank you to Tracey Brabin and her team for the tweet of the event (21) Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire on Twitter: "Young people at @BeckfootSchool shared their views and experiences with me at the Celebration Assembly, organised by @CitizensUK It’s inspiring to see such passion and hear how they see their own futures and the future of our communities. 👏 We must listen to their voices!🗣 https://t.co/M9my4HUsGY" / Twitter

Hear from our young directly in the video below.
