Summer Activity and Information
Important Summer Food Update:
Bradford Council are providing low income families with school-age children supermarket vouchers to help with the cost of food over the school summer holiday. The vouchers are being given to families with school-age children and in receipt of Council Tax Reduction. Vouchers are for £75 per school-age child. If a family is eligible, they will receive a letter from Bradford Council with details of how to redeem the voucher. Letters will be posted over the next few days and should be received by families by July 26.
Holiday Activity and Food Programme
This summer, children and young people across Bradford District who are on free school meals are getting the chance to access free holiday club places through our #HAF2021 Summer of Fun programme.
This opportunity is provided as part of the government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. The free places are funded by the Department for Education.
The scheme provides enjoyable activities and nutritious meals for primary and secondary school aged children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. It includes specific provision available for children with SEND or additional needs.
Bradford Council is working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations to deliver these clubs. The council has awarded grants to 87 organisations from all over the district and they are working with schools to offer places to eligible children and young people.
