Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Headteacher's Blog 30/04/2021

Welcome to my blog.
Earlier this week, our 3rd cohort of Brilliant Club Scholars received their certificates, ending their first year on the programme. They enjoyed a keynote speech and received information and guidance about universities as well as a chance to ask current Manchester University students questions about their courses and university life.
It was a great session, and they are now looking forward to starting the next stage of the programme.
Brilliant
I was thrilled to see some of our students in the Telegraph and Argus this week. Students were invited to create a poetry piece as a thank you message for their teachers. Take a look at the article in full, by clicking the link:
T&A
Year 11 and Year 13 students have been very busy completing assessments over the last two weeks. They have been fabulous throughout. Well done everyone! These, together with other assessments over the course of the year and those being held later this half term, will form part of the evidence base for their assessed grades that will be submitted to the exam boards.
If your child in Year 6 is due to join Beckfoot Thornton in September, could we please ask that you complete and return your admission form as soon as possible. If you have misplaced your form or have any queries, please email simsstudent@beckfootthornton.org
We will be happy to help and are looking forward to finding out more about our new cohort!
Attendance at extra-curricular PE and Y10 period 6 has been phenomenal again this week. Let's keep it up!
We have an annual survey from the Trust for parents to complete for us to gather their important views on a rollercoaster of a year! We always value the time of our parents in completing these and will use their feedback to inform our development plans. Students will also get their chance to share their views with us over the coming weeks.
Parent/family survey
Link to the parent/family survey to share - open until Monday 10th May:
As Monday next week is a Bank Holiday, school will be closed to all students. School will re-open at the normal time on Tuesday 4th May 2021.
Please keep on taking lateral flow tests and reporting the results via the school website. We advise that tests are undertaken every Wednesday and Sunday evening please.
Have a fantastic long weekend. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!
