Our Week in the Woods
Parents and carers may have seen on Class Dojo that we recently held our Week in the Woods. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to leave their comfort zone and try something new. The students had the opportunity to explore an unfamiliar environment and undertake new activities, away from the school building and without a screen in sight!
Activities included whittling, decorating wooden cookies, leaf printing, making a fire and then roasting s'mores on it, cooking quesadillas, tree climbing, nature walks and relaxing in hammocks. There were many more activities, including simply exploring the natural environment!
Our Week In The Woods is an amazing opportunity for student to explore new environments and gain new experiences, we hope our pictures and comments from students and staff demonstrate this. We are all already looking forward to our next Week in the Woods!

"I often find myself trapped in my office, either in meetings or completing SLT tasks. Being timetabled into the week in the woods meant that there was some ring-fenced time for me to escape my office and spend some time with our amazing students. Just walking and talking in the woods with some of our young people was so uplifting. They are such a joy to spend time with. We walked, we talked, we played and we cooked! I spent the rest of the day stinking of campfires. I had an amazing time - thank you for inviting me!!" Jo Dowson - Assistant Headteacher
