In March 2018 Beckfoot Trust schools offered a series of data workshops covering Early Years to Post 16, each was led by a teacher expert in the effective use of data to support improvements in outcomes for pupils. Over 130 people - from Teaching Assistants to Trust Directors - attended one of the workshops after school had finished for the day and gained practical insights to take back to the classroom, an understanding of how school leaders use data and how the DfE and Ofsted hold schools accountable through performance data.
We had some great feedback on the events. One attendee at the Early Years session said "I thought it was excellent - a great overview of EYFS, an explanation of the Trust approach on data and a really clear walk through of the systems used. Left me with some very clear follow up points for back in school."
Many people at the secondary KS4 session commented on the high quality of the workshop and took away plenty of ideas about how to share the learning with colleagues in their school, based on a really clear model from the teacher practitioner who led the training (who may just have developed another string to their bow!)
Our thanks to the all the colleagues who planned and led the sessions and all those who attended.
Sharing of best practice and true collaborative working, great work from all involved.
