Design note 4 - what do we mean?
In addition to the similarities between our new icon and the real Northern Lights, we particularly liked some of the themes the Northern Lights icon represented, namely:

As the exam season comes to a close, we are celebrating the departure of our Year 11 and Year 13 students from across our four secondary schools: Beckfoot Oakbank, Beckfoot Upper Heaton, Beckfoot Thornton, and Beckfoot School.
After years of hard work and months of revision and dedication, students are reaching completion of their GCSEs and A Levels. For many, this marks the end of their time at secondary school, and the beginning of a new and exciting journey in the wider world.
Staff and leaders across our schools have praised students for their resilience, determination, and maturity throughout what is widely recognised as one of the most challenging periods in a young person’s education journey.
Students from across the Trust are now preparing for a variety of next steps, including sixth form, college, apprenticeships, university, and employment. While each student’s journey is unique, the Trust is confident they leave school with the values, knowledge, and skills to thrive in whatever path they choose.
As they move on, Beckfoot Trust knows they leave with the knowledge that they’ll always be a part of the Beckfoot Trust family.
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
